We’ve lived near each other our whole lives but never knew it! She went to school with some of my cousins and mutual friends but we had never met or even heard of each other. Fast forward to 3 years ago (May is our anniversary), we were both single and looking for that special someone to spend the rest of our lives with. We met on a dating app (Coffee Meets Bagel) and started talking. Pretty much from the moment we started chatting there hasn’t been a single day that we haven’t spoken to each other. After a few weeks (I’m a bit slow and shy sometimes) I asked her on a date, we decided on Dave & Busters. She loves to play games and is very competitive so it was a perfect place for a first date! I beat her at air hockey several times, and remain undefeated to this day. She beat me at axe throwing and continues to be better than me at it to my chagrin. We play games on our iphones together all the time! Well we kissed that first night and the rest is history. It’s been 3 years now and I decided sometime last year I was ready to pop the question. I began researching rings, I love to research everything before I buy. I was so annoyed with the big box retailers and their insane markups. I was getting tired of finding online retailers that either had diamonds for a good price but the ring was crazy expensive, or vice versa. I came across Friendly Diamonds and they had both for very reasonable prices! Plus the ring design selections were amazing. I pulled the trigger and bought the exact ring she wanted. Only hours after ordering it I was contacted by customer service and they offered me a bigger diamond with even better color for free! I of course said yes. For our anniversary last year we were at the river (Parker, AZ) and took a picture on my friend’s boat in front of the Parker dam. It was so magical that I wanted to ask her in that same spot. The river is her “happy place”. So last Saturday, 4/19/25, we were at the river with some friends and I did exactly that!
