Halfway through our vacation in Japan, we found ourselves overlooking the beautiful city lights of Kyoto from atop a mountain peak. I realized that this was easily the best opportunity to pop the question and as my friend smuggled the ring box into my coat pocket, my heart began to pound. As she was taking pictures of the beautiful view, I knelt down behind her and waited. Eventually she turned around and immediately said yes! Afterwords we had good food, memories, and bonding time to polish off the day, and went on a ski trip to end our time in Japan as newly engaged fiancés!
